To avoid such cases, the Law Commission has recommended that registration of marriage of NRI and Indian citizen should be made mandatory. The Law Commission said that NRIs are continuously being cheated in marriage matters. Indians have to face a lot of problems due to such marriages. The commission has recommended changes in the NRI Bill 2019, so that people committing such frauds can come under the ambit of the law.
